Dag Ma

'Dag Ma' is a tragic-comic story about maternal love that centers around Irène (103 years old) and the unique bond that she shares with her daughter Yvette (62 years old). It's a story about saying goodbye as the we come to question what will happen to Yvette (who has an intellectual disability) when her mother will pass away.

Mother and a daughter are forced to reinvent their relationship when their health no longer cooperates. Their relationship shifts and the roles of mother and daughter are reversed for the very first time in their lives. How do they fit into these new dynamic and how can they prepare for the inevitable goodbye?

In "vijfsterrendocu" 'Dag Ma' wordt die problematiek niet uitgelegd, maar getoond. Zonder franje, met slechts hier en daar een streep muziek. Er zitten tranen in, maar zeker ook humor. Het leven van oudere en kwetsbare mensen zoals het is – en zoals we het op tv veel te zelden te zien krijgen.
