With the same kind of respect and eye for nuance as its predecessors, this third season of 'Als je eens wist' tackles yet another taboo subject: parent abuse.
Als Je Eens Wist: Oudermishandeling
Haunting testimonials of victims are alternated with enlightening insights of today's psychological, legal and socially leading experts. In a lot of cases, some kind of developmental disorder or childhood trauma is at the base of f.i. physical issues.
Throughout this series however, we learn abuse can have many other faces as well. It can manifest itself on a psychological and/or even economical level, leaving behind trauma of a different kind than the visual.
